For many people in the technology industry the chance of securing an internship for Google is one of their dreams. After all, who would not want to work for one of the most forward thinking technology companies in the world? On this page I want to discuss a little bit about the process of applying for an internship for Google.
So how can you apply for an internship for Google? Well, you go directly to Google of course! They have a dedicated website which lists all of the latest positions. Since this company is expanding at a rather rapid rate the amount of internships they have available is huge. More are being added every single day. I am sure that if you check back regularly you will find that it is pretty easy to find a job that you can actually do!
One of the things to be aware of is that Google is only going to hire the best possible people for the job. Therefore if you are not at the top of your game when it comes to your chosen profession then you are going to need to steer clear of them. They want people who know what they are doing and are capable of taking a leadership role if it is required (and trust me, everybody that works for Google is required to take on a leadership role from time to time!). In addition to this you need to be aware that the recruitment process is fairly strenuous. You will not be able to blag your way through this application.
Many people note that the interview process for an internship for Google is perhaps one of the most difficult things that they have ever had to go through. Depending on the position there will be a number of interviews that you need to go through. Each interview will be more challenging than the last! Each interview will also be carried out by a different person. At the end of the process they will compare notes to see whether you should be recruited or not.
In addition to this, there will be a number of complex questions that you will have to answer. These questions are NOT to catch you out. In fact, most of the time you do not even need to give a correct answer. These questions are designed to test the way in which your mind thinks. After all, Google want you to have the same thinking processes as their other employees. Remember, if everybody is on the same page then it will be much easier for them to take their company forward.
Remember, an internship at Google isn’t for everybody. If you fail applying once then it is likely that you will be looked at in a poor light in the future. I therefore suggest that you keep an eye on the internship page for Google and only apply for jobs that you know you are going to have a huge chance of actually getting!
